| Chengdu Natural History Museum (The Museum of Chengdu University of Technology) covers a total construction area of 50,520 square metres. Of that, around 17,000 square metres are dedicated to exhibitions. With the theme “Knowing the Earth as Our Home, Exploring the Mysteries of Nature”, the museum features six permanent exhibition halls and two temporary ones. Notably, it houses world-famous exhibits with significant scientific value. These include the fossil of Mamenchisaurus, the fossil of Chungkingichthys tachuensis, and meteorite remnants discovered in Longchang City, southern Sichuan. Moreover, the museum covers a wide range of topics. These include geological processes, natural disasters, and disaster prevention. It also explores mineral resources, their protection and use, the origin and evolution of life, and biodiversity. Currently, the museum holds nearly 70,000 items in its collection. Around 10,000 of these are on public display, offering a rich and educational experience for all visitors. |
